I am pleased to announce our latest article, Fractured Data, Fragmented Care: How Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Can Offer a Cure for India’s Digital Health Gap, featured in ABP network. In this piece, we address the challenges posed by siloed data in India’s healthcare system and propose the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) as a key solution.
Fragmented data hinders patient care and increases the risk of medical errors. For example, critical information about a patient’s chronic condition may not be accessible across different healthcare providers. We highlight how ABDM, with components like the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) and Health Information Exchange (HIE), empowers patients and fosters a more connected healthcare ecosystem.
To realize ABDM’s potential, collaboration between national and state stakeholders is crucial. We recommend strengthening communication, streamlining policy frameworks, and investing in capacity-building initiatives.
By effectively implementing ABDM, India can enhance the quality of healthcare services and deliver patient-centered care for all.
